The Roccasecca Project and Newman on Tap team up to present an evening in memory of Fr. Ian Ker, the great convert, priest, scholar and biographer of Newman and Chesterton who recently passed away in England on November 5, 2022. He had been a visiting professor for a couple of years at the then College of St. Thomas in the 1980s.
All are invited to a 6 pm Sung Requiem Mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church (1621 University Ave NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413) preached by Fr. James Reidy, a retired professor of English from the University of St. Thomas and longtime friend of Fr. Ker. The Mass will feature a Schola Cantorum composed of singers from Holy Cross and beyond. The Holy Mass will be livestreamed on the Holy Cross YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/xyg6dq7fVMM. A social reception will follow the Mass in Kolbe Hall at Holy Cross which will feature a brief talk at about 7:45 pm by Msgr. Jeffrey Steenson on “Tract 90 and the Drama of Newman’s Conversion”.
